Hard Target Film Review [vlog]

When a woman's father goes missing, she enlists the help of a neighbor to find him. Her father was killed by a rich hunter who enjoys hunting homeless men for (original blog) amusement, and the two quickly learn this while searching for her.

Hard Target, starring Jean-Claude Van Damme and Lance Henrickson in his Hollywood debut, left an intriguing first impression. Though Van Damme was uncooperative on the set, Woo's direction was flawless. To this day, rumors abound that the film was originally intended to be much longer and focus more on Henrickson's character, but it was repeatedly re-edited because of the excessive violence that drove it past the R rating. When so much has been done in opposition to the director's original intent, how does it hold up today?
